Reporting to the Assistant Facilities Manager, you’ll help ensure buildings remain in top condition—inside and out. From routine maintenance and minor repairs to janitorial duties, your work will directly support a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. You’ll also be the go-to for supporting program staff with maintenance requests, making a meaningful impact on how their spaces serve the community.

Every day is different, but broadly speaking, here is what your day may look like: 
The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for the routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment and physical facilities, ensuring that all locations are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This role supports interior and exterior upkeep, including general housekeeping duties and assisting with maintenance of work, living, and outdoor areas.
 
The Associate follows the maintenance request process and communicates facility and equipment needs to their supervisor while maintaining inventory logs and tracking the movement of supplies and equipment, including physical counts on- and off-site. Additional duties include supporting staff with heavy lifting and equipment upkeep, handling donations and supplies safely and efficiently, and participating in agency events and fundraisers by assisting with setup and breakdown as needed.
 
This role also includes participation in the Support Services On-Call rotation to help support the agency’s 24/7 operations. Proper handling of all agency property—tools, equipment, and chemicals—is essential, along with a proactive attitude and clear communication with supervisors. Above all, the Associate helps ensure a safe and supportive environment for the youth served by the agency
 
You need: 
  • High School Diploma required, further training in a maintenance or janitorial field preferred.
  • One year of related experience and a demonstrated ability to perform maintenance and janitorial tasks.
  • Understand and comply with all Agency policies and procedures, including Child Protection Policies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while understanding and complying with requirements of mandated reporting, duty to warn, HIPAA, and other limits to confidentiality.
  • Willingness to utilize training opportunities in support of personal and professional growth, competence development, and to increase overall capacity to best serve the organization every day.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fluid environment.
  • Proficiency with standard computer operating systems. Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and other programs and websites as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours as well as Holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to attain a CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to pass federal, state, and local background check investigations.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record.
  • Technical skills in routine facility maintenance and vehicle upkeep.
  • Knowledge of and technical abilities in trades such as carpentry, construction, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.
 
Working conditions:
  • Position will work in a variety of settings, both inside and outside, and at times in inclement weather (Snow, Rain, etc.).
  • At times will occasionally work above 6' in height.
  • Noise level is mild to moderate, potentially in areas where ear protection will be needed.
  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must have the ability to observe details within close range.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary, standing, or crouched position for extended periods.
  • Must be able to move within dynamic environments and at times uneven footing.
  • Consistently operates a computer.
  • Ability and dexterity to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairways and within a three-story building with and possibly without the assistance of an elevator
  • Regularly moves items up to 50 pounds while ascending/descending stairways.
