The Education Specialist plays a vital role in transforming lives by fostering meaningful community connections and delivering essential resources. Through dynamic outreach, impactful education, personalized consultations, and engaging program facilitation, this role advances the organization’s mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD). With a focus on collaboration with local networks and coalitions, the Education Specialist builds partnerships that drive positive change. Success in this role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently to achieve program goals and deepen community engagement.
 
You need:  
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in education, training, outreach, social services, community engagement, or a related field is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, social work, nursing, health, human services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with ADRD or aging populations is preferred.
  • Must pass a state and federal criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license, a good driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to drive and use your vehicle for company business.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS 365 Suite 
  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • Some travel within Alaska and to conferences may be required
